Healthcare and Life Sciences

Healthcare-grade Oracle to PostgreSQL.

HIPAA constraints. Data-residency requirements. Long support contracts and slow procurement cycles. Trekport runs locally, leaves no data outside your network, and is engineered for the regulatory floor.

The challenge

Protected health information cannot leave the customer environment, even for the duration of a migration run.

Trekport's response

Trekport runs as a desktop application or self-hosted console. The engine connects only to your source Oracle and target PostgreSQL. No managed cloud component. No data ever leaves your network.

The challenge

Vendor telemetry channels conflict with internal infosec policy and create new audit surface.

Trekport's response

Trekport has no product telemetry by default. Optional crash reporting is opt-in and disabled in air-gapped deployments. There is no phone-home update channel.

The challenge

Support contracts in regulated healthcare run for years. Migration tooling must remain supportable, reproducible, and auditable across that horizon.

Trekport's response

Conversion output is deterministic and lives in version control. Two runs against the same source produce byte-identical output. Years from now, the same conversion is reproducible from the same inputs.

The challenge

Validated systems (GxP, 21 CFR Part 11) cannot accept silent code-paths. Every conversion decision must have a documented rationale that survives a future inspection.

Trekport's response

Every transformation produces a rule reference and a before-and-after artifact. Out-of-scope items are explicitly classified rather than dropped or stubbed. The conversion log is the validation artifact, exportable in JSON, CSV, or PDF.

The challenge

Clinical schemas accumulate decades of PL/SQL, including legacy package state, scheduled refreshes, and Oracle Job patterns that have no direct PG equivalent.

Trekport's response

Trekport's compatibility layer (orafce, pg_cron, and the Trekport-published packages) covers the common Oracle surface. Anything outside that surface is classified as OUT_OF_SCOPE with a concrete fix path rather than emitted as a silent placeholder, so clinical teams know exactly what still needs a code review before cutover.

Built for healthcare and life sciences teams that own the outcome.
